“Voice” and Sonnet submissions

I just read the article on finding one’s voice.  Good article.  Thanks for the poetry links.  I just started reading Boland and Hirschs’ book on the Sonnet.  I read that Rattle is seeking sonnet submissions by August, so I figure I might have time to craft some.

Regarding the topic at hand, I write in the voice of my teen Asperger students when I write social guides for them.  Sometimes it drives them
crazy the first time I have them read what I’ve written and they realize
they’re reading in the first person.  These social guides are similar in
intent to the “social stories” I write with pictures for preschoolers or
for developmentally delayed teens.  (The purpose is for mental rehearsal
of thoughts/ behaviors we want to facilitate.)

Gotta go.
Happy Spring. -Mary Ellen
