Epistolary Writing – The Power of the Letter Form

Join our small group of five in studying epistolary literature in poems, fiction and essays. Emulate the strategies professional writers have used to create four fresh works of your own. Writing Healthy Starts Workshop

In this four-week class, five group members work together in an online classroom, each on their own time, responding to three writing exercises a week supplied and developed by Sheila. People post their work (up to 250 – 750 words each piece) and respond to one another’s work. Work is meant to be in the freewriting stages. Everyone receives Sheila`s detailed response to each of their pieces, responses that help writers develop their exercise results into poems, stories or essays. Fee is $120 for members. Sampler Platter Online Class

Enrollees will have four assignments: One in sudden nonfiction / flash fiction, one in persona writing, one in hermit-crab essay form, and one in epistolary form. Expect to create four fresh pieces of writing after reading inspiring models from published work. You’ll receive detailed response from Sheila and are encouraged to respond to your classmates’ work telling them what is particularly effective in their writing and where you wished for more. Poetry Writing Workshop

Let us know if you are interested in this four-week class, five group members work together in an online classroom with Sheila, everyone on their own time, developing four poems and, if they’d like, one revision of each. The classes uses Sheila’s three-step response method known for helping people develop their work quickly and to great effect. Everyone receives Sheila’s detailed response to each of their four pieces and her comments on revisions. Whether you work from the prompts and model poems that Sheila offers the class or you use older work you want to revise, this class will help you move your writing along toward polished poems. Self-Schedule – Private Writing Tutorial

Concentrate on a piece from start to finish:

Concentrate on developing an article, personal essay or a poem. Work on something you’ve started already, or Sheila can offer you prompts to choose from and provide detailed response to your first draft and to two revisions. Initial draft can be up to 1500 words long and the tutorial must be completed within 30 days. The fee is $80.

Self-Schedule - Generate Four Starts in One Week

Want to spend a week writing new pieces from guaranteed-to-work exercises so you can stock up your files and notebooks and stay in practice? Receive four prompts, one every other day. Send Sheila the writing you do from each of the four prompts and she will respond with advice on how to develop the exercise writing into a finished piece.

In this tutorial, all work must be done in one week’s time. The fee is $50.
