Jody Gentian Bower earned a certificate in nonfiction writing from the University of Washington. In 2002, her essay “The Lord of the Rings – An Archetypal Hero’s Journey” was a featured article in the “Special Guest” section of theonering.net, a leading Tolkien fan Web site. She is currently at work on a book about the journey of the heroine as depicted in current literature and film.
