I am leaving tomorrow for my first Writer’s Retreat in Albuquerque – they will have a hard press to provide in 3 days what you did in one!”
~ Kathy Sechrist
Sheila presents at conferences, teaches writing intensives and is available by phone. Would you like Sheila to teach in your area? Email her the details.
Here is her upcoming schedule (don’t forget to check this page for additions as the year goes on):
3/17 Write Short Write Deep – Visit the The Learning Curve for class description and to enroll.
3/18 Writing in a New Convertible with the Top Down – visit The Learning Curve for class description and to enroll.
Phoenix, AZ: Writing the Essence – Lodging available at the Marriott Residence Inn, Glendale, a short drive from the private home where the workshop will be held. Reserve a room under Writing It Real’s block. Hot breakfast available. Free transportation to the workshop site. Class size limited to 8. Email for more information and to register by check or phone.
Deepen and expand writing you want to develop and make starts on new writing. By creating vignettes, lyric prose, persona writing, fragmentary writing, flash writing and the epistolary form among other non-fiction subgenres, your writing will move from the daily into essence. What you write will cut to the heart of your (or your characters’) personal experience by relying on details and dialog, metaphor and simile, and the expansion of psychological moments. Move past writing blocks to deepen your shorter work as well as deepen your book-length work.
