“Thank you so much for your comments and suggestion in the three poems. You are the master of editing out & rearranging words. After reading your comments, I worked on shortening lines, clarifying metaphors, and finding ways to step into the poems.” ? ~ Christine Robinson

Writing It Real Writing Contest, Theme: Memory’s Harvest
It’s harvest time in many areas of the world and as fruits and vegetables of the season appear on shelves and country stands, we may be thinking of our own harvests–memories of the season and memories of times past triggered by particular fruits, vegetables, trees, flowers, celebrations, neighborhoods, clothes–you name it–we have abundant memories worthy of writing from, whether the memories are joyful or bittersweet.

Reading Period October 19, 2018,?to January 20,? 2019
Enter eight poems or up to 3000 words of prose. Receive Sheila’s detailed response to your writing within a week and the opportunity to submit a revision by the end of the reading period. The revision (or first entry if there is no revision entered) will then be in the running?to be judged by our guest judge TBA soon. Three winners will receive the opportunity to have an hour’s consult with Sheila on their writing, an hour of editing time, or a fee waiver for a Writing It Real online class. With permission by the winners, Writing It Real will publish the three winning pieces along with the judge’s comments. All publication rights are retained by the authors for future publication. This is a great?opportunity to receive valuable response and have a jumpstart toward realizing your final draft.
