A Coming-of-Age Vignette, Sage Advice, and the Writing Exercise They Inspired — 3 Comments

  1. Congratulations on publishing your book.I know how much work it is! You’ve had some great experiences. Every experience, no matter how bad it seems, holds within it a blessing of some kind. the goal is to find it! ( Buddha) And as Eleanor Roosevelt said..”The purpose of life is to live it, to taste every experience to the utmost. to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. ”

  2. One last thought on self-publishing. When friends in my hometown learned I had a book in print, I explained that I had published it myself — not a publication house.

One friend remarked, “It doesn’t matter who printed it. You wrote it, it is print, and I can hold it in my hand.” It was then I realized no one else cares who published or printed it. I was the one who had made it a reality.

Sheila, I appreciate the chance to share my experience and my work with others.
