“In Honor of Mr. Alfred Scott,” by Jean Peelen — 4 Comments

  1. Jean, you traveled a special journey and expressed it here beautifully and with
deep meaning that touches me on many levels. As you honor Mr. Scott, I honor you.

  2. Your essay honoring Alfred Scott touched me in so many ways.
Having grown up in Oklahoma, I lived in this atmosphere throughout my youth.
    Our “negro” housekeeper was Ciola.
Our “white” housekeeper was Mrs. King.
Although both women were treated with respect, there was definitely a difference.
As a consequence, I raised my sons to treat everyone as equals.

Thank you for honoring Mr. Scott in such a beautiful way.
