Interview with Memoirist Barbara McNally on The Writing of Unbridled: A Memoir — 6 Comments

1. Sandra,
Love to hear how you resonate with your Lover, Mother, Fighter and Sage.
Are one of these dimensions more challenging to live out?
How do your express these parts of yourself in an integrated way?

2. Thanks for taking the time to let us know about the impact of the interview on you. It is true that when one person tells their story with courage and insight, and tells of their process in getting to insight, we all as readers go on a personal journey and grow. The impact we make as one person telling what we see and need is enormous.

3. Very inspiring interview! Appreciate the backstory of how the book was brought forward, the supportive/guiding role Sheila had in the process, the role of publicist, et al. Also, as a woman and reader I believe many of ss don’t know how to form in thought and language what they are feeling/ experiencing, don’t know that it is their voice that is missing, that there is more to ourselves than one role, and so I’ll be looking for that expression when I read more about Unbridled.
I found this line resonated with me: “…begin to recognize and accept that I am not a one-sided person, but have various dimensions as a woman that I want to express. I didn’t want to be pinned into being one OR the other but ALL. These four images are archetypal shadow symbols of womanhood that are universal throughout time.”
When I’m done writing this comment, I’m going to the links to read more. Looking forward to reading next week’s excerpt.
