Tornado Watch by Carol Smallwood — 3 Comments

  1. Carol, I am remiss in not writing earlier to congratulate you on your recent awards
and honors. As I browse the internet and its literary journals, I often find you
and take much enjoyment in reading your work, as well as oft-being inspired.
(Delighted, too, in shared WIR membership)

  2. I loved reading this article as it wove the library of the past to a 20th century library. The vastness of information available at the 2019 library is ‘a treasure trove’ of world history while offering a literary history of the past through treasured books. I liked the analogy of a tornado threatening… bring change to our libraries.

    • I felt this way too and love the way you have articulated it. Those of us who lived in our pre-highly electronic age have a gestalt to share about institutions and daily life. I hate to think of our memories as period pieces, but what we experienced and loved is being replaced quicky in today’s world. Filmmakers have to employ researchers to find the elements of sets that are made of what we experienced as merely “every day.”
